Fort William win Marine Harvest North Division 2 Under 14 League
1st October Under 14’s Match Report: Fort William 8 Newtonmore 2
After winning an extremely difficult tie away from home against Kinlochsheil ( 0 – 1) Fort William Under 14’s approached this match as the title decider with revenge on their minds after a 6 -3 away loss to Newtonmore previously in the league. From the outset Fort William’s defence was strong and commanding with extremely strong performances from Gregor Cameron and Robbie Hall. Gregor has played this season for Fort William’s senior team so he would be gladly welcomed back into the Under 14 team by his fellow Fort William players. As always Fort William’s commitment to the tackle and winning the 50/50 balls in the midfield ensured the forward line received good possession and opportunities with the ball.
At half time the score was four nil and this was followed up by another four goals in the second half for Fort. Newtonmore did reply with two goals of their own and played the fixture in a competitive manor.
There were four different scorers, always a good sign for any manager. Grant Disher (1) / Lewis Clark (1) / Victor Smith (3) / Lewis Bryson (3). Managers Ali Clark and Victor Smith were delighted with the win and great team work on display for Fort William.
Well done lads – keep up the good work flying the flag for the club!
